A Compass for the Modern Day Gentleman

Who We Are

As gentlemen of Kappa Alpha Order at the University of Nevada, Reno, we are a close-knit brotherhood of 105 members who pride ourselves on our commitment to becoming leaders amongst men and making a profound difference in our community. Through philanthropic efforts, community service, and a strong commitment to brotherhood, we foster lifelong friendships and strive to make a lasting positive impact. By joining KA, you will discover what it means to be a part of something greater than yourself.

Philanthropy

Philanthropic excellence lies at the core of the Zeta Delta chapter. Last year, we raised $30,000 in support of The Independence Fund, providing an all-terrain mobility device to a wounded veteran. Our efforts brought the Reno community together with members of the fire department, police department, local news stations, local politicians, and other community representatives.

These events have become a cornerstone of our chapter's identity, showcasing our dedication to service and unity. We’re proud of our accomplishments and are committed to continue build off of our past successes.

Our motto, “Dieu et Les Dames,” which translates to “God and Women,” serves as a reminder that there exists a higher power in our lives. As our founders did in 1865, we are gathered to demonstrate our reverence for God and women, thereby cultivating the development of our moral faculties

The second part of our motto emphasizes the idealization of women during the Age of Chivalry and the honor they received. We believe in the continuation of chivalry, adopting the mindset of a modern gentlemen, showing respect and humility to all in every aspect of our lives.
